The end of the summer … All that tropical idyll came down to changing the state reminding of September. I was sitting in the city centre, drinking the coffee and thinking where to take the business partners from Austria, who were just about to join me! There had to be some good and substantial, home-made food, somewhere to sit and enjoy the honey brandy, white, home-made wine, lamb and nature. There wasn`t much time, they had to be at the airport in several hours, and I wanted them to be the part of our village idyll at least for a while. After a few minutes, the choice came down to the ethno-restaurant “Mirovici“.
IT`S TIME FOR OUR LITTLE ADVENTURE
While driving them to the far site, I could hear them summarizing the impressions of Belgrade: “Your city exudes a strange energy that moves us. You are very hospitable people. Gourmets, large portions, nightlife, affordable prices … You have everything to be an interesting tourist destination.”
We were slowly reaching our destination. About half an hour from the city centre, on the way to Smederevo, we passed the turnoff for Vinca, and the next turn left was reserved for our city. Ample parking is an additional plus. I’m the driver, so I somehow always pay attention to that.
The colleagues were fascinated by the appearance of the restaurant. Everything was packaged to look perfect. Starting from the traditional stone houses, on to the old carts, until the bridge where the ducks were posing in a rich landscape. Checkered tablecloths, fiddle, footwear, carpets, massive wooden tables and carved chairs were just some of the innumerable details that gave the restaurant a traditional flair.
The restaurant staff is extremely friendly, and not only is the food so delicious that its flavor could compete with the most expensive ethnic restaurants, but it is also easily accessible by the consumer`s wallet. There you can try some of the Serbian specialties – venison goulash, aspic, wedding cabbage, a traditional appetizer. My recommendation is to try their homemade brandy and local wine.
I ordered veal broth, the Karadjordje steak, mixed salad and a small bottle of white wine and all that cost me only 900 dinars, which is slightly less than 9 euros. Ridiculous price for a quality meal and wonderful day in the countryside, you have to agree with me on this.
The boss of this object briefly sat with us and told us that he planned to expand his oasis in the near future and put even more interesting content – a small artificial lake, a small zoo, and more. But even without it, for me everything looks as a great place for delicious meal and a small respite from the urban and accelerated rhythm of the capital. When you are finished with your work and want to get away from the city’s commotion and nervous drivers accompanied by your friends, associates and family – this is the place for you!
Whenever I write the articles about my country, Serbia, the most enjoyable themes for me are the places that are the foundation of our heritage and traditions. Places of historical interest.
After all, ethno tourism is unduly not very developed by us. And it could be because the potential that we have in this field is enormous.
Until we reach “a better time,” the things which we can enjoy in are all the farms on the territory of Serbia that have kept the Serbian family tradition and rural idyll.
The owners of the ethno villages have turned ares and acres of fertile land into the farms, and whenever you go, you may be remembered of how people once lived.
Reports from these areas coming soon, because they deserve all our attention.
